The City Council adopted the current plan in early 2016. Many of Bellevue's parks and trails that we use and treasure today were first conceived as an idea in the Parks Plan.Ībout every six years, Bellevue updates its Parks Plan. It also sets the standards whereby the park, trail and open space system is operated and maintained over time. The City of Cambridge's previous OSRP covered the period of 2009-2016.The Parks and Open Space System Plan contains the community's long-range vision for acquisition and development of parks and trails and preservation of open space. In order to be eligible for open space grant funding from the state, a city or town must have a current and approved Seven-Year Open Space and Recreation Plan filed with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs. Through this process the City will update its Open Space and Recreation Plan (OSRP) for submission to the Massachusetts Executive Office of Energy and Environmental Affairs.
